We could not have asked for a better day, I don’t think either of us could stop smiling all day! It was so wonderful for us to have all of our Irish and Australian friends there
together and to see everyone mixing and having the craic together. We didn’t want it to end!

We decided to get married in Ireland and initially I was a bit daunted by the idea of planning a wedding in Ireland while living in Australia. However it was much easier that expected! Most suppliers have Facebook pages making it easy to see what their work is like and were very quick to respond to emails. I also had lots of help and advice from my sisters and bridesmaids so I was pretty lucky.

We didn’t really have a specific theme but we did incorporate a few “Aussie” details to help our guests feel at home.

We met when I was travelling in Australia on a Working Holiday Visa. I had to do 3 months regional work to get a second year visa and got a little more than I bargained for when I met Tom!

I came back home for a few months after we met but we were in touch and Skyped every couple of days until I eventually got my second year visa and returned. And the rest is history!
The proposal, when was it and what happened?

We went on a holiday to Fiji for New Years 2016. On the last day of the year while out at sea on a fishing boat Tom popped the question. He knew he had a good catch!

The highlight of our day was definitely being surrounded by our friends and families. We are so grateful to everyone who travelled and made an effort to be there with us.

What advice would you give to other couples planning their wedding?
Don’t forget to stop and take it all in. It’s a day that you spend so long planning for and it’s over before you know it.

Olga – MrsRedhead photography Ireland- was amazing to deal with from the outset. She was so easy to communicate with and nothing was too hard.

From the morning of the wedding when she arrived she was so laid back and just blended in with everyone. We had so many of our guests comment on how great she was!

Usually we do not like posing for photos but Olga is such a fun person to be around that the photoshoot just felt like another fun part of the day.

She has an incredible eye for detail and we were blown away by the photos.

Thank you!!

What was the best moment of the day for you?

I dont think I could pick a specific moment because we enjoyed the whole day so much. From a relaxed morning getting ready at home, having our closest friends and family attend the ceremony in a little Church near where I grew up and partying into the small hours with our guests!

Did you go on honeymoon, and if so where to and for how long?

We went on honeymoon for 10 days to Brazil. We had both always wanted to travel to South America but never made it so this was our chance to see a new continent together.
