Rainy but full of love humanist wedding ceremony at Annacarriga – R&C

Rainy but full of love humanist wedding ceremony at AnnaCarriga Killaloe – Rachel & Conor

We met in Santa Barbara California on a J1 visa in 2007. After the summer we stayed in touch and when I got a job in Dublin and moved up from Clare he was the first person I contacted. We became good friends and remained that way for 3 years until we realised it was more than friendship… Six and a half years later after I returned from a 3 week holiday visiting friends in Australia, he got down on one knee!

We both wanted something a little bit different for our wedding and love the relaxed outdoorsy vibe. We were delighted when we found AnnaCarriga, it was the first venue we saw and we knew straight away it was where we wanted to get married. It was also somewhere that’s close to my heart as my parent were married in Killaloe and it is near my family home. Our dream was to have our ceremony outside by the lake and soak up the beautiful scenery. Unfortunately it lashed rain on the morning of our wedding and we had to go with our plan B which was a ceremony under the canopy. It ended up being the most beautiful setting and ceremony under the canopy surrounded by 190 of our friends and family. It was the most perfect day and we would not have changed a thing!
